Hey all. I am in need of some help with a dead hard drive. I don't need the actual data itself as much as I need the file names and directories of all the files that are on there.

How could this be possible to accomplish? The Window search index file. This drive was an external drive that was being indexed by Windows 10. So all of that information is somewhere in the Windows search .EDB file.

The problem is I can't seem to figure out a way to dump all of the file names and folder names from the .EDB file. I found a PowerShell script that will do it, but for some reason it doesn't dump all of the file names. This Windows search .EDB file is 14 GIGS in size! Yet the file list text dump from the PowerShell script is giving me a 200MB file that only provides info on like 3 drives out of 12.

I did find a program called Windows Search index analyzer (aka WSia). Unfortunately it is one of the most confusing programs I've ever used and after a week straight of trying to figure it out, I cannot get it to give me the info I need. I even paid for the program, but when I tried to use the company's contact page to ask them for help, I get an error message that their site's contact submission form is broken. It's been like this for weeks so I'm guessing the company barely exists any more and they just left their site up without bothering to maintain it.

I would really appreciate anyone being able to help me find this info. I know it's there, I just have no idea how to access it. Thank you so much for reading!
