Has anyone on here ever thought about a get together for this board?

Since starting out this board has grown into one of the best out there, and I wondered if anyone thought about a get together with maybe a few speakers or classes?

This board is an amazing resource of information in computer forensics so credit to Jamie for running it and all who post.

A board meeting is an excellent idea.I am interested and would like to hear from experienced people speaking about the subject. Networking and learning from those more experienced in the field is a good way to share knowledge and meet people. The only caveat being as long as that knowledge is used in an ethical manner of course.

who knows perhaps there can be 'geographically local' board meets that become a global meet ?

Pretty good compared to direct mail and extremely good compared to television advertising.

I would also be interested.

I'm delighted to hear that Forensic Focus is proving to be a useful resource, that was after all the intention behind starting it in the first place.

Experience tells me that arranging any kind of get together, no matter how informal, is always more of an undertaking than it might seem and I'm afraid I don't have the time to organise anything at the moment. However, it's a great idea and I see it as a natural extension of the kind of community we've created here online. If people do want to get together and there's anything I can do with the site to facilitate that feel free to let me know, more than happy to post notices about meetings etc.

Perhaps in the future we could even get something more professional off the ground in terms of a conference but there seem to be a fair few of those already. Maybe there's a gap in the market we could exploit, are there any conferences in Hawaii? Barbados? Mauritius? Just thinking aloud 😉

Sounds good.

Any London-region thing would be fine wink but I guess it would replicate F3? BTW, I'm a member of F3 but have yet to go to any of their things…

What would be interesting was if Jamie told the board about himself! Where do you work fella?

And ruin my carefully cultivated air of mystery? 😉

I'm based in Amsterdam (NL, not NY!)

I would like to echo some of the previous sentiments in this thread and also say that this is one, if not the best CF forum on the internet and is an enormous resource both in terms of member’s skill sets and in the listed content. I’ve also been impressed with how the forum has grown and matured in the period of my membership.
