All,

I have come across files with the extension .qbw, these files are quickbook files;however, from researching it seems that the only way to examine these files is to use quickbook software which is not free I believe. Does anyone know of a free program that can open quickbook files?

Regards,
Taurean

NO. but possbly you can use the trial (30 days) of Peachtree

which has an importer/converter for Quickbooks. ?

Depending on your needs, previewing contents might be enough

Everything can't be free.

Some programs you need to bite the bullet and purchase. I've found that Quickbooks was one of them.

You can find them on Ebay, at second hand media places, craigslist, or Amazon.

Make sure you get the version of Quickbooks that matches the file you have, if you just buy the newest version you will have to upgrade the data to the current format which can change accounts, reports, users, etc.

Best bet is to make friends with a local accountant that has several versions. Then let them export the data in the file to Excel or "print" the reports to a PDF.
