Paraben Corporation along with Robert Morris University are bringing together industry experts to discuss current trends in cyber security and forensics. This symposium is designed to educate digital forensic practitioners on innovative and emerging topics in digital forensics through lectures and networking.
Topics will include the digital forensics of Social Media, IoT (internet of Things) devices, smartphones and a look to the future in Cyber Technologies. PFIC also has the first of its kind with a presentation demonstrating the process to complete a chip-off of a smartphone. “There has never been another conference that has brought together the quality of presenters as well as the depth of detail that go into the sessions at PFIC, plus it is totally affordable at only $159.00 or $100.00 to attend,” stated Amber Schroader the PFIC Conference Chair.
Everyone is vulnerable to cybercrime today through security breaches of organizations, identity theft, online bullying, ransomware, etc. Only through education and idea sharing can we combat this growing wave of crime and prepare our defenses. PFIC is excited to have RMU host this event as they are forging into a leader in the Cyber Forensics arena with their strong academic programs in forensics. “With the explosion and use of mobile devices it is imperative that our students gain hands-on training in the field so that they can market themselves for top jobs upon graduation” stated by Karen Paullet, associate professor of computer and information systems at RMU. Mobile Forensics was introduced as part of the Cyber Forensics and Information Security degree at RMU in January 2014. Since then, over 200 students have taken the course and over 35 faculty from across the country have been trained in mobile forensics as part of an NSF grant for Mobile Forensics and Security. For these reasons and the exemplary staff and students at RMU, Paraben has chosen them as the Cyber School of the Future 2017.
