.apk downgrade issues

Good Afternoon,

I am aware the .apk downgrade method is the last resort when trying to parse SM, and IM from mobile devices, however have always been able to do so until recently.  I have a Samsung A series and the .apk icon disappeared during the downgrade (not unusual), using Cellebrite UFED 4PC, however my instructions were to manually install, this I was unable to do, so abandoned the extraction, my instruction was then to install from the saved .apk files in UFED - Tools, I attempted this and "apk not installed", I then attempted via sd card and "apk not installed".  I was provided with the same version apk file from .apk PURE, and attempted both ways, and "apk not installed.  I can see the files (encrypted) on the device, but not the application.  Can anyone offer advice for reinstallation on the app, so I can perform a manual extraction on it ?

I'm sure this is a common issue, however cannot find any advice anywhere.....

When it comes to Samsung phones, first check if "Secure Folder" is enabled or not. If enabled, do not conduct APK Downgrade or you will fail.

Besides you have to figure it out the App you'd like to downgrade is based on single apk or split apks. You could take a look at my earlier post as below:

Cheers,

this might sound stupid, but I had the same problem a couple of weeks ago. Sometimes its not possible to install the apks via the UFED-Tools. I messed up so many APKs when I used our UFED-Touch..But to be honest, all of my colleagues say the Samsung A-Series is not that easy....

Here is what I did:

1. Make sure secure folder is not active
2. Reinstall the apks over a shell (install adb on windows) --> Follow the instructions https://www.androidrecovery.com/blog/install-use-adb-windows.html
3. When you managed to install adb on windows, "Option 2" in the link below is what you are looking for. I was able to fix it

When none of my tips are working, try to flash via twrp

Good luck m8
