I have an Itunes backup file from an apple device backed up to my console. I no longer have the cell phone. I do know of software that is available that may be capable of bypassing the encryption such as Passware Kit, but what I am wondering is there any software available that may be more cost effective or even free? Thoughts?
It's slow as hell (because the encryption is good - especially if the modern ones) but you can do it with Hashcat. When I mean slow I mean REALLLY slow. I think it was something silly like 1 password a second or less for a lot of the brute forces even with a GPU depending on the attack mode.
However, if you get creative with side channel attacks using dictionaries and permutations of them, you might have half a chance. Succeeded in cracking a fairly decent password this way recently.
@rich2005, Thank you for you're input I will give try this out!!Â
