I am having some trouble setting up a virtual disk

I have VMware workstation 6.

I am trying to load a DD image so I can run it virtual. My problem is how to load the dd image up virtually. Do I need to convert the DD image to an ISO and if so how do I do that… because I can setup an run ubuntu as an iso.

I read some where that I have to install some converter from VMware. It will help with drive issues.

I know the Pc is running windows xp. Sorry I am all over the place I been at this all day and some of the night…

Thanks
John

Have you read the post on Harlan Carvey's Blog Wednesday, March 28, 2007 Mounting a DD image?

Simply install and run Liveview following the instructions here
Liveview

If that doesn't work (and it does in most of my cases) try out Virtual Forensic Computing which does the same job but sorts out Windows activation (and possibly other) issues for you aswell.

There are also instructions on my blog for how to get Liveview up and running…

One thing to remember is this…if you're going to boot the image so that it appears as a running system in VMWare/Liveview, you may need a password.

"the Harlan Carvey's Blog"??? That usage is incorrect. The only time you should precede someone's name with "the" is for Cory Altheide, and it should be capitalized, as in "The Cory Altheide".
