Evidence Bags?

I am in the process of setting up a computer forensics company in Nottingham, UK.

One item I am having difficulty sourcing is evidence bags - I have done the usual Google searches, etc. I am after a variety of sizes from floppy disk sized to bags big enough to place PCs in, which are sealable and have space to write the exhibit details on.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hi Jonathon

First fo all very best of luck with your venture. We set up in the UK 12 months ago and are going strong so I hope it goes well. I must admit we don't use specialist evidnece bags due to their cost and the benefit of them. Some Police units who gives us drives have them already bagged but normally we evidence tag them instead with full description and catalogue numbers - for our own cataloguing systems. It's probably best to ask your customers if they would like you to bag up equipment or not.

Anything else/advice I can help you with please let me know. Good luck in your venture.

Thanks for the friendly response Andy. I may well take you up on your offer of advice!

BTW, did you start the company after coming from law enforcement or from another private company? I have come from one of the the Met. Police's Hi-Tech Crime Units. Is most of your work sourced locally or do you cast a wider net?

Cheers.

Jonathan

Hi Jonathan,

Good luck on your venture. I set up a computer forensics company in 1999 in Nottinghamshire and now have a base in London as well.
My company tends to use anti-static bags from RS (they are pink in colour) and come in all sizes imaginable and we also purchase police evidence bags that are a bit dearer.

All the best,

Mike

I'm not sure if they ship overseas, but there is a company that may be able to help you called SecurityBag.com - hope that helps!
