Hi, I' am new to this forum so here goes,
For university I' am attempting to create a case management system for my final major project. I' am currently researching products readily available on the market and how the system would be validated for use as evidence in court. My questions would be
1) What would you expect a Case Management System to store
2) With the system being used in a case and would ultimately become used as evidence what process' how could the system be validated and verified as for use in court.

Please consider the SANS Investigate Forensic Toolkit (SIFT) Workstation Version 2.13 for an excellent guide to case management from setup to analysis to reporting.
Here is the URL http//
Specifically, the SIFT Workstation has an excellent step by step guide document on the desktop called "log2timeline-cheatsheet.pdf".
I think you will fiond it very informative and on target.

Hi,
honestly i don't use a software specifically designed for storing case informations or case management software in specific.
I really like keepnote and dradis frameworks tho.
they are barely note taking tools but i like them alot.. after all all you need during your investigations is storing notes that you will use during your final report.
you can take screenshots and "write" your notes.
people, especially technicians, are generally reluctant to writing notes in their own stiles due to automated tools.
honestly i really like the idea of writing things as notes myself and being able to review them quick and easy.
keepnote also allows exporting of the notebook into html format, it's free and light, and it covers my needs pretty well )
