Hi everyone,

I have an issue getting a device imaged using Cellebrite. So far the usual support channels dont seem to know either.

Has any one had experience with working with "Managed/Supervised" Apple devices and Cellebrite? I know the specific function that is block is USB access which just happens to be rather crucial. Is there a way of getting around this ? What else can I try....

It's an iPhone SE running v13.1 iOS. Catchure is on the latest version of UFED4PC.

Thanks in advance.

It's been years since I have dealt with a managed iPhone.  The only way I managed to get a download from it, was by tracking down the computer that managed the device and getting an iTunes backup using that device.  I believe that it will only communicate over USB with the computer that manages them.  I then loaded the iTunes backup into Cellebrite PA and MSAB XRY.

This was years before checkm8 though.  I would expect that the normal OS would need to be running to enable the blocking of the USB interface.  So I wouldn't expect Cellebrites auto-detect function to work, but surely you can manually look up the deice using the model number, and then get a FFS by putting the device in DFU mode and running the checkm8 extraction?

Well... If the IT that manages the device were to remove their management from said device, you wont be restricted in your typical acquisitions. Unfortunately this is not going to be ideal in many cases, but it is something to consider.

Other than that, my experience has not been fruitful in acquiring such devices. As, AmNe5iA mentions, checkm8 could be worth a shot given the iPhone's specs are compatible.
