An interesting and clever way of determining the data being transmitted. I am always under the assumption a connected device I am carrying will leak some sort of information about my whereabouts or activities it’s interesting to think that even when you see yourself as taking precautions it’s still providing data. I would be interested in knowing more about the settings like activity tracking and if it was opted into providing google data to “improve your user experience” etc… to see how much it would limit what is being sent. It would be nice to see a control with all of the opt ins and wifi automatic connection vs all of the various options you can limit your transmitted data to google enabled to see the difference. Surveillance capitalism very interesting could be a good capstone topic…
I agree with Kenobyte, it'd be interesting to see the initial setup of the phones and what they opted into at that point. I did find it interesting that the one in airplane mode collected *more* data though, that seems counterintuitive?
