Iphone Date

Hello,

I am investigating a number of pictures taken with an Iphone 4s.
The problem is that when I check the pictures exif information they all have the same date.
The timestamp on the pictures makes it obvious that the "datestamp" is wrong.
(A 5 hour flight from abroad is mixed with christmas celebration at the same time…)

So, my question is, besides that the date is tampered with some exif software, is there any way that dates in digital pictures by accident are changed?

I haven´t had any luck when I´ve been googling the issue, and my feeling is that; No, the exif date don´t change in pictures unless you change it.

Thanks in advance!

This may seem obvious, but where did the pictures come from? Were they taken on the device or sync'd to the device? The location of recovery should give you a clue on this. I'm thinking, if they were sync'd then the date/time information may relate to when the files were created on the device and the other date/times you mentioned will relate to when they were actually taken.

They were taken on the device, but the pictures I am looking in to came from Icloud/Skydrive.
I understand that a couple of years ago these kind of "hosts" actually could change the exif information, but not any more.

But generally, I think that the exif information always follow the camera/phone device, i.e. the source?

(Actually this may not be a Iphone case and maybe the topic is in the wrong place?)
