Is getting a masters in cybersecurity the same as (or equivalent to) getting a masters in computer forensics or is digital forensics only a part of cybersecurity? I have a bachelors degree in computer engineering and ultimately I want to focus on internet crimes against children (pedophilia, etc). Which masters degree is more suitable?

This is going to depend on what school you are looking at attending. From the research that I have done, most Masters in IA programs will include a course in forensics however this is usually more of an introductory type course. IA usually focuses on protecting the network and systems which are attached to it from inside or outside attacks.

If your goal is to get into LE or focus on other forms of Internet crime, I would go with a Masters in forensics. There you will cover more of the intricacies of file systems and how to recover information which can be used in court to prove someones guilt or innocence.

It depends on the university also. Some are better than others and also more in line with the times.

Cybersecurity is a broad topic and often is designed to cover a range of areas and may lead to careers in incident response of information security.

keep in mind these MSc's tend to be more detailed as in procedures and more advanced but are still more about the mindset, how useful the mindset will be depends on you overall knowledge of computers and the desire to expand it.
