We have a 68pin Internal SCSI HDD in and we need to get a PCI SCSI card and an internal SCSI cable with terminator to allow us to image it. I've looked online but cant seem to find them anywhere, does anyone know where i might be able to get them??

Failing that is it possible to get a SCSI to IDE adapter for the HDD??

Cheers

Greetings,

I think your Google-fu is off this morning. This site seems to have quite a selection

http//www.superwarehouse.com/SCSI_Controller_Cards/c3/2328

And this site has links to a bunch of other sites with them

I know you can sometimes pin SCSI to read only but I ALWAYS use a Tableau SCSI write block. Better safe than sorry….

I can lend you what you need if you pay P&P and promise a swift return!

My main business is data recovery, so will likely have whatever interface you need.

Just let me know.

The Adaptec 29160 is the model we use in house for tape drives and hard drives if it's not a forensic job. these cards are all over. I'm pretty sure you wont have a problem finding one.

Thanks for the info, it is a forensic job, but we use a software writeblocker so would the adaptec 29160 be suitable??

If you are anywhere near the border with England we are about 15 miles south of it just off the M6 junction. Send a PM if you want and fetch it down you can image it here. We have the write blockers and we also use the FRED computers that have the write blockers built in
