Mobile Phone Forensic Course Available From Guidance Software
NewsGuidance Software, Inc. today announced the availability of its introductory level mobile phone forensic course. The hands-on course introduces investigators to Neutrino(tm), the company's mobile phone acquisition tool, and demonstrates how the product is used to perform comprehensive analysis and reporting of properly acquired and forensically sound cell phone data...

The Neutrino solution includes a wireless-signal blocking device with new, patent-pending WaveShield(tm) technology. Combined with the industry-leading EnCase(r) software, Neutrino streamlines complex digital investigations, allowing investigators to collect, analyze and preserve data on a variety of mobile devices. Additionally, the Neutrino solution's WaveShield technology sets the device apart from other signal-blocking tools with its unique ability to obtain forensically sound acquisitions of cell phone data within close proximity of cell towers.

"As the use of mobile devices has become increasingly prevalent worldwide, we've been experiencing a rapid growth in demand for training on advanced investigative technologies such as our mobile phone acquisition tool," said Al Hobbs, VP of Training at Guidance Software. "Given the sheer quantity of corporate and criminal investigations, terrorist activity and the preponderance of relevant data stored on cell phones, investigators need training on the devices used most often to communicate."

This mobile phone forensic course is intended for law enforcement officers, computer forensic examiners, corporate and private investigators, and network security personnel. Participants may have minimal computer skills and may be new to the field of mobile phone forensics. Ideally, students should own or have access to EnCase(r) Forensic Edition and the Neutrino mobile phone acquisition device.

Components of the Neutrino digital investigation tool include:

* Hardware support and parsing capabilities for 95 common mobile
phones including Nokia, Motorola, Samsung, Siemens, LG and Sony
Ericsson
* A subscription service with monthly updates for acquiring newly-
supported phones, including any required cables
* The patent-pending WaveShield(tm) bag, a technology that reliably
blocks wireless signals, even within close proximity to cell towers
* Portability with the entire tool set organized and stored in a
single field kit bag

For additional information about Guidance Software's investigative products and services, including the EnCase(r) eDiscovery Suite, our Professional Services Division and the EnCase(r) Legal Journal, please visit us at www.guidancesoftware.com or call (626) 229-9191.
