… this is for reference only at this point, as I don't honestly know the quality of the course yet, but the Open University ( which generally has similar academic standards to any other UK University - and higher than some 😉 ) is starting a postgraduate forensics module in their computing courses next year.
You can find further details on the course here

What I do know is that it will be using HELIX for the examination software and that allegedy "an evidence bag" will be included as part of the course materials, so I guess that the education may well cover the correct handling of evidence in a marginally more hands on way that most distance learning courses … Also the course has been developed in conjunction with a UK forensics company who do active work … But I don't know who !
The course is £1300 and is available in …
This course is available for study in the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland and the following European OU study areas
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
So probably not one for our American brothers sadly -(
Shame, as apart from a couple of CDs, all of the material is available as PDFs from the course website when you are registered …
Looks interesting…thanks for the information )
Interesting….
With the recent critism of universities offering CF courses, do you think this will be any better? Personally want to get some form of CF course under my belt, but will hang on for now.

Hello all,
I have started this course m889 in computer forensics and investigation with open university, and yes there is an evidence bag which i have been instructed not to open until around week 10.
I must say that the practical part of this course i think will be quite easy for me, but i am already finding it hard to put an answer to question one, so any help would be much appriciated.
