Again, not sure if this is (a) appropriate or (b) in the right place, so apologies if it isn't.
I don't know if this is of any use to anyone (living in the UK, the travel expenses may prove prohibitive), but a friend of mine sent me details of a Computer Forensics Show April 19-20.

Greetings,
The Computer Forensics Show has a very bad reputation. I don't know if they're getting their act together, but if you have a limited amount of funds for training, I'd investigate this show carefully before investing in it.

I am trying to help Frank Manley with this show as it is in my back yard. Please do give it a chance and if you have any questions do feel free to reach out to me and I will assist you where I can or get you the right person.
I agree with kovar, I've attended The Computer Forensics Show and seen others ask the same questions. I've never once seen a good review of that conference. And if they have speakers scheduled for the same room, starting and stopping at the same time…
I have an email filter titled 'Frank Manley'… I will let you decide what that filter does.
Oh dear! I thought it looked interesting but obviously you guys have been there, bought the T-shirt as they say.
I was merely passing on the information (being new to this area, I wasn't sure whether it was known/of interest to the community). Maybe, as Douglas says, they're trying to improve?
Obviously my budget won't stretch to it (much as I'd enjoy a couple of days in NY)! Is there anything like this in the UK?
Not to jump onto the "me too" band wagon, but I have yet to hear of a good review either.
The headline on their web site tells me all I need to know… "IMAGINE THE ABILITY TO VIEW ANYTHING THAT EVER APPEARED ON ALMOST ANY COMPUTER"
lol
IMAGINE THE ABILITY TO VIEW ANYTHING THAT EVER APPEARED ON ALMOST ANY COMPUTER"
What - is this not possible? I thought you could do that within 30 minutes of analysing a computer and have some microsoft software write a report (with the help of Mr Paperclip) that could be submitted to court?
Please correct me if I am wrong … 😉
Hmmm… We could definitely use a good forensic conference and show.
How about we give some constructive feedback?
I would like to see -
A good forensic show invites cutting edge and largest vendors and allocates demo time for them.
A good set of educational threads.
I would like vendors to put out demo pieces for the FIs. Even limited versions, to get the feel and value, would be an awesome plus when it comes to $5K+ products.
What else would you want to see?
