Well, you state that you are 37 so pretty much anything you feel comfortable in since you are old enough not to care about what other people think. If there is a dress code, you may want to conform to that. If conformity is not for you, change jobs.

I am constantly surprised on how much emphasis the commercial world focus on presentation instead of actual job skills.

I don't believe this poll belongs on this site IMHO.

What to wear to college, this can't be serious. I see someone behind a keyboard saying " OK guys, I'm going to go to this professional forum and wait get this ROFLMAO I'm going to ask all these people from all over the World, what to wear to college ha ha ha h ah ah ha ha ha ha"

Armresl, I didn't mean to offend you by asking the question. If I mislead you somehow, I apologize and I'm very sorry. If I didn't make myself clear, I would like to do so now so nobody gets upset. When I asked this question, what I more or less was asking is, what should a college student be wearing to school in order to better prepare him or herself for the IT community in the future however close or far away that may be? In other words, if the college student, speaking about me in this case, would like to make a great professional impression on the IT peers at school, what should they wear? I’m assuming if I wear three week old gym shorts and a "that's what she said" shirt with potato chip grease on the front of it, I might not be the person my fellow students are looking for if their boss sends them to school to headhunt for a potential employee. I hope that clears up any confusion I may have caused armresl. Being a Marine Corps Veteran, I tend to dress according to Marine Corps standards which doesn't always allow for slacking off. My concern was more out of over dressing instead of under dressing. IMHO, overdressing can also be just as bad as underdressing. Thank you for your comments armresl and I hope this doesn’t come off as being rude because I know when I proofread, it looked as if it were. wink

With all due respect ) , let me doubt that any potential employer will send a student to school to headhunt for a new employee. 😯

If you think about the word "headhunt" BTW, you would find out how it refers to the head and not to the dress.

Reminds me of a scene from a comedy movie called "Not another Teen Movie" which was a spoof on all the teen horror movies out there.

There is a scene where 2 students are in the school office talking and one student says "Hey dude be careful, I heard the school has put someone undercover to blend in and to catch students partying and stuff"

Pan to probably an 80 yr old grandmother with a boa and teenage clothes on asking the two boys where a certain classroom is. And as the older lady is walking away she says "thanks dudes"

The only time you will see people at uni are when they set up at the job fair.

If it's me, I buy 10 of these shirts, and wear them everyday.

Front of shirt "There's no place like 127.0.0.1" and wait for the invites into the cool computer clubs that don't advertise.
