Hi All,

I've been browsing this amazing forum for the past few months now, as I'm a student majoring in forensics, whilst also fascinated by the entire field.

I could really use your help on this one!

As I'm working on a really big paper about how do Forensic professionals being exposed to new technologies in forensics (both Computer and Mobile), I could really use to hear about your personal experience with the subject.

Currently, I'm at the beginning of the research and from what I found so far, most of the exposure to new technologies in the field come from professional magazines and sites who deal with forensics, computer or mobile phones in general.

The paper deals with Europe alone.

Could you guys please mention names of magazines you tend to read in which you would expect to encounter news/innovations/new technologies related to forensics in Europe?
And If it's not too much to ask, mentioning the country for the magazine/other source would be great.

Can't wait to get your perspective on the subject!

P.S. It appears it is most difficult to find such in Eastern Europe (in opposed to Western), so it'll be a major plus if it comes from Eastern Europe )

Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
Alon

Unless the question is about legal constraints and challenges a forensic examiner may face that are specific to Europe, I don't see how the continent of residence makes a difference.

The innovations in technology that impact digital forensics are not generally limited to Europe. The learning process is generally a function of personal motivation and drive. You have join forums, attend seminars, read books, and when you see something new, research it.

Don't really think there is much more to it. As is the fact with much of the information in this field, there is no quick and easy answer.

The answer to your question is a mixture of below

Discussion forums such as this one
Google
Real world experience
Personal/business interest
Hands on practise

There is no single answer to your question. The whole computing world is exciting because it changes so fast, but also a nightmare to keep up with products and ways to analyse them.

Magazines I think can be too general to be major use (but that may be an unfair comment).

Not to mention overpriced, rarely released and limited in comparison to what is available online, but once in a while there is a golden nugget there.
