I am currently a student studying forensic computing and I have been given the task of proposing an experiment that i will later perform. The scope available to me is literally anything, however I have decided to look at artefacts that are left on a system after a conversation has been had on facebook chat.
I am posting on forensicfocus because; whilst i can find basic information about where to look (mainly found by watching videos from this website), i can't find any (although i'm sure some have been written) actual journals that give detail around the facebook chat artefact area. I'm not looking for anybody to spoon feed me the information, i like to find things out for myself it's just frustrating when all my searches for documentation come up blank x
I'd appreciate any suggestions on whereabouts to look to find relevant information.
Thanks.

If your task is to 'propose an experiment' then finding papers or journals may not be too important.
I would suggest you will get more from the task by starting from scratch. Look at the different methods used to conduct experiments relating to Internet artefacts, trial some, then write a detailed methodology of how you intend to conduct the tests.
If you methodology is right, the experiments themselves should lead you to where / how artefacts are stored.
E.g Set up a VM. …Use it to conduct chat….Do some keyword searches relating to the chat….

No, they haven't (although to be honest I'm not sure why this is consistently such a hot button issue for you). Anyway…
@DFICSI, lmgtfy.com falls outwith the spirit of acceptable use of these forums (especially in response to a first time poster who's already given some indication of having carried out their own research).
