I have just graduated from Uni with a First in Forensic Computing and am now job hunting. Most companies are looking for experienced analysts and unfortunately I don't have any experience in this field, although I have worked in other areas for many years.
My question is, would it be worthwhile doing a Masters to get some hands-on experience, or are they more academic in nature?
Also, can anyone recommend a Masters that provides plenty of hands-on experience?
Thank you.

I'm in Purdue's master's program and just did an internship with our local police department this last semester as part of the coursework.

I too have just graduated with First Class Honours in Computer Forensics, and was considering doing a Masters or (more likely a PhD) in Digital Forensics and found that pretty much all the courses are Academic.

As far as hands on experience you could try offering to do voluntary work for some companies or (if you have the £££) try and self fund some training in something like EnCase.
