Hello everyone,

I am currently looking for a topic for my MSc(infoSec) project in mobile or embedded devices forensics. It can be research-orientated or practical(i.e implementation of a tool) as I can program.
I was looking into the field of anti-forensics and thinking of developing an anti-forensic tool for iOS as I haven't yet found such a tool available. There is an anti-forensics tool for Android only (http//www.dfrws.org/2010/proceedings/2010-310.pdf).

Do you think it would be a nice project?I am interested in doing something which can be a future trend/challenge and maybe go for a paper.

Any other ideas are welcome

By the way, I've looked at the list of potential topics from forensicfocus.com and not interested

Why would you make a tool that would make our job harder? I could understand asking this question if this was Anti-Forensics Focus forum but it's not.

I would assume that all of us on here are law abiding citizens and therefore a tool like this to us or being advertised to us isn't something that we are interested as Forensics is how we make our living.

Thank you for the reply.I am planning to work in digital forensics as well but didn't see it in that way.It is supposed to be for educational purposes and raise concerns on the reliability of current forensic tools.
Anyway, I assume you are right about not being interested, anti-forensic was only part of an idea, I state that any other ideas that might be interesting and maybe contribute to the forensics field are welcome.

Thank you in advance

Anti-Forensics

It is supposed to be for educational purposes and raise concerns on the reliability of current forensic tools.

ztsib then perhaps you should continue with your proposal. It is better in the examination, forensics, evidential arena that we learn to cope with this potential to cause difficulties and overcome it than live in the shadows fearing its presence.

I agree with trewmte on this.

Whilst at University my Dissertation was related to the contriving of digital evidence and detection thereof.
