I am looking for a place to get my Msc, online.
Looking at the
Why is this program better than say the
University of Rhode Island http//
University of Central Florida http//msdf.ucf.edu/
University of Maryland http//
Utica College http//
UCD was already mentioned.
Graduate Certificate http//
Graduate Certificate http//

Hmmm. ?
This certificate prepares the student to seek mid-level career positions such as Computer/Digital Forensics Examiner, Forensics Systems Analyst, Forensics System Engineer, IT Forensics Manager, Multi-media Exploitation Specialist, Information Systems Analyst, Information Systems Operations Analyst, Information Assurance Engineer, Computer Forensics Analyst, Cyber Ninja, Cyber Athlete, and Cyber Gladiator. Through various tools, techniques, and methods, program graduates will know how to properly acquire and collect evidence for use in legal proceedings for criminal or civil forensics requirements, present rules of evidence, and maintain integrity of the chain of custody.
May I ask which activities are connected to the qualifications/jobs of
- Cyber Ninja
- Cyber Athlete
- Cyber Gladiator
[/listo]
I have never seen an actual job ad for any of the above, though "Cyber Ninja" sounds really cool , something *like*

You haven't _lived_until you've drawn a drive map !
Seriously though, as an _academic_ excercise in low level disk analysis - well worth learning how to do.
You mean when a products keep calling something a partition, yet it is a volume? When some will (vaguely) know what a MBR is, but no idea about a VBR? When everyone insist on calling end of sector marker? When everyone calls her 55AAh, when it is AA55h?
Now, why would anyone really need to understand that? mrgreen

Someone asked about the UK programmes & I just replied to that one, that is here
UK Masters in Digital Forensics
However, the below is essentially my reply to that 1.
I'll chip in here too, similar to the previous poster im currently almost half way through my MSc Advanced Security & Digital Forensics @ Edinburgh Napier Uni. I did quite a bit of research before deciding who to do it with. Cost was also a factor ofcourse as I paid for it myself so no funding/grant etc.. Alot of the 'considered more prestigious' & 'big name' Uni's prices were asking for an extortionate amount of money for similar themed Masters, whatever the name they chose to call it - as you can see the 1 I am on doesn't say cybersecurity but it essentially is, or rather covers various facets of what would be considered cybersecurity - there's a whole debate surrounding the naming of degrees etc somewhere on the net & a lot of Unis took that word out as it's considered too 'generalised' - a whole debate in itself )
Holloway & Cranfield in many circles are considered top notch in the 'general' cybersecurity/information security arena but cost can become a factor.. Fine balance between what you want to learn, the teaching (& method of delivery), the cost & as you've mentioned employability afterwards etc..
You've also then got ACE (Academic Centres of Excellence) in the Cybersecurity field, those who have achieved the 'stamp' so far anyway
GCHQ ACE I chose Napier after several days of research, the programme can be done Full Time, Part Time or via Distance learning. I looked/checked reviews & looked @ what they had to offer compared to others. I can also highly recommend the Uni I am with it but appreciate it's difficult to compare with other academic institutions teaching similar programmes as who would do several to get a comparison eh ? . So you're looking @ an external body to certify it as being 'good' or 'fit for purpose' kind of thing. And, it just so happens…
Take a look at this article which may help & was also publicised in the media, GCHQ have recently (within the last 2 weeks) certified 6 Masters degrees as meeting their stringent requirements/expectations for Cybersecurity related Programmes of study. There are fuller details in the article and im happy to say Edinburgh Napier is 1 of those mentioned and the MSc im doing is the degree that's been certified by them.
Only 6 Masters programmes within the UK have so far achieved their certification.

Edinburgh Napier Uni MSc Advanced Security & Digital Forensics Good luck with whichever Uni you decide on, it is a fascinating topic/area.
I was just wondering if anyone could share a list of leading universities in the US and the UK that provide MSc in Digital Forensics.
Hi,
I am currently attending John Jay College of Criminal Justice in NY, and working on Digital Forensics & CyberSecurity MS. You can search John Jay D4CS and find the program website. I will finally be done in May and can say I took a lot away from the program!
Cheers,
Jess
There is a list on this website too, but i'm not sure how up to date it is
