Has anyone attended any of the National White Collar Crime Center forensic training lately? If so, what are your thoughts on the training?
Looking into possibly attending the IDRA or the NTOS class…
Thanks for your input!!
Not sure if this will help…I went to the NTx class in 07. It was a combination of what is now the NTFS and NTOS courses. I have always found the NW3C courses good for what going on under the hood in EnCase, FTK, etc (where the information is coming from and how - relative to the file/op sys - it got there).
I've attended BDRA and IDRA. I thought they were both excellent classes. Very in-depth. Basically they show you the old-school manual way of doing forensics so you know what today's tools are doing in the background. Very informative and I liked the instructors.
Thanks for the input, I have attended Sans training in the past so it sounds like it may be similar?
Surprisingly, I figured more people would have attended these courses…

I believe NW3C training is for is for local, state, tribal and federal law enforcement agencies only. NW3C is where I received my first certified computer geek pocket protector 8)
I've attended their BDRA and IDRA classes and learned a lot from both. The quality of the instructors and the associated material is excellent.

This is good information. I will be attending a two day forensic class in May 2010, a Cell Phone forensic in May and BDRP for four days at the end of May, all in Rome, New York.
Any one heading to MSU for the CCE at the end of March, if so let me know and I will see you there…
