Hi All,
I'm very new to the forum (first post).
I'm currently in the Data Recovery Industry and would like to get into the Computer Forensics field.
I would like to get any opinions as to which is better In-Class or Online training. I'm leaning towards online mainly because of work, however if I can find someone in the Toronto area offering night classes that would be great.
Thank you in advance for any info offered.
Matt,
It depends upon how you define "better".
For some, "better" may constitute the freedom to complete the coursework at your own pace, as well having a reduced cost. However, the material itself may be substandard.
For others, like myself, I like to be able to engage, ask questions of the instructor or other attendees, so for me, having in-class work would be "better". When I got my graduate degree, the courses I enjoyed most were those that spent some time teaching the basics, with some lab work to build up skills, and then had the students complete a project.

Mr. Carvey,
Thank you for the quick reply, that is my problem right there, "defining what is better" On one hand I like the self paced approach (due to time constraints), but I also like to be able to question the instructor and focus on the "hands-on" labwork to develop the neccessary skills to conduct any type of proper investigation. More research on my part is needed I believe.
Thanks again.
Hi Matt
Don't know if this is in your neck of the woods but try here

Someone on the list sent this link to me. Though the link references their on-line training, they may also have classroom training as well. It's worth a try.

Thanks funyfarm,
I have their info already, both the in-class and online offerings. Looks like the online for me as the campus for in-class is about a 2.5hr drive each way.
Thanks again
