Hello,

I’m currently trying to write out a personal statement which i can use to apply to universities so that I can study forensic computing as a degree.

My problem is that I’m currently in my first year of studying computer science, but i would like to switch courses. I studied a module entitled professional and social aspects of computing which touched on aspects of forensic computing and as soon as the first lecture took place i knew that this is what i wanted to be learning about.

Could anyone give me any advice on how to talk about switching from one course to another within my statement without sounding as though i lack commitment?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Surely honesty is your best policy here (as per your second paragraph)?

Bear in mind that the people usually reading those have a lot more experience figuring out of you're BSing them than you have in BSing.
