Greetings all,

Does anyone know of a company that provides training in Physical & Logical Data recovery? I only found a couple of companies from India, i'm still looking for other reputable companies. Any help would be appreciated.

Post the links here or provide their email here to let me know. Thanks in advance

Regards
MC

Hi,

BitHead Yes, I've looked at DeepSpar's website. Their product focuses on fixing firmware structures and diagnostic abilities, which is part of what im looking for.

KeyDet Basically i'm looking a company that can train my people in Physical Data recovery of hard drive i.e. Hard disk Head / Platter Architecture (HDA), Head Replacement, Logic Board Design AND Logical Recovery of a hard drive i.e. diagnostics, fixing firmware, Bad sectors and such.

I hope thats specific enough. Thanks for the replies guys. Anymore help will be appreciated.

I've done quite a number of logical recovery using FTK imager Lite (together with encase and sleuthkit) as well, but we've had trouble with those hard disk with physical problem (clicking noises, hard disk that doesn't even power up at all)

What problems do you normally encounter with physical hard disk, may i ask?

Check out the "Presentations" section of MyHardDriveDied.com for some very instructive resources on drives, their architecture and problem resolution. I attended a training session by the site's author/founder Scott Moulton this past Spring and I learned more about hard drives in an hour than in the previous 20 years.

In my work, I've had the "clickers," the "seekers," and the "heaters." If you work in this field, I think you know these charactors all too well! My advice is to keep these drives cool and, using your favorite recovery tool, get the data off these lame drives F-A-S-T.

Hi AWTLPI,

Many thanks. I hear ya man. Will give it a read and might even help with some of our dying hard drive at the office.

Not easy to find a training for this kind of thing.
