I am looking ideas and suggestions that how I can conduct my research and tools that I can used . Also required what sort of experiments will be helpful to me . Please help me in this .

As a final year student I would expect you to be knowledgeable about computers, and how to copy files and use a stop watch.

You are going to have to work out how to turn TRIM on and off. You are also going to have to work out if the percentage used on the disk makes any difference.

It sounds like a nice project - but the project is to work out the method, rather than ask others.

A lot of forensics is trying to work out the unknown. Jump in and start some tests, the next stage may then become clear.

Thanks for reading my post and for your valuable feedback actually I have started some experiments but in the tool I used vcreates its own test file which is equal to the size of the ssd and moreover the speed of ssd mention by the manufacturer doesnot comes same infact very low compared to the hard drive also so my professor rejected as the results are incorrect so I was looking for better tools that can help to evaluate the performance on the basis of files that I have saved in ssd not the test file created by tool. So I am unableto find those sort of tools that can evaluate the performance on the basis of actual files that I want to save so if u can help to find tools and other experiments yhat i can perform that will be great in this please reply

A lot of forensics is using tools - but before you use a tool you have know what they are doing. Also, if you were in court, you would have to justify your answers. Just saying what is says on the box is not enough.

For your job, I don't see why you need a tool. What is wrong with Windows which after all is how the majority of drives will be used (followed by Linux).

Design your own tests, and then revise the tests depending on the results.

Sounds like he has started his own tests; just because he is using a tool to carry out said test does not mean he didn't create the methodology.

Regarding your project, I completed a project quite similar in nature, and would recommend that you read up much more on your subject before continuing testing.

Below are a couple of pages I found extremely useful when learning the processes and features of the Solid State Drive, there are many more available online, continue researching throughout the project.
