Has someone taken the TeelTech BGA Chip-Off and Analysis class? How did you find it?
I personally have taken the their Mobile Phone Repair and Chip-Off class last year. I appreciated the "Repair" part, but the chip-off part was disappointing. It was mostly a class about data carving and hex analysis…
I am mostly interested in being able to do chip-off on locked Blackberry devices to then be able to decode the data with Cellebrite (if the encryption is not enabled of course).
Thanks for sharing your experience.

FWIW I've just done the ControlF chip off course in Leeds which was very good, focusing on the hardware to pull chips off to read them in a programmer. Cellebrite handled the dumps from the chips.
Blackberry epoxy is horrible.

Infact I was asked to write and present a Blackberry course last year but there were not enough people willing to pay for such a course for this specific brand. Incredibly people want to earn '000 of £ or $ but surprisingly some think they should get training at a low cost, without understanding how much it costs to acquire the skills and knowledge in the first place.
I have personally run many, many course ((U)SIM/Handset/Cell Site/Call-Billing Records) over the years and it is not unreasonable, nor unexpected, that a delegate on a course may find the course doesn't always cover all the aspects the delegate might like. It is extremely difficult from a training point of view to get the balance just right because, as in your instance, you now want a make-specific solution, where the marketplace has been fairly happy to go along the line, generally speaking, with the more the better when it comes to makes/models which can be made to render some sort of results.
I hope I am not dampending your spirits (which is not my intention) but I read your comments about teeltech training course and was wondering what more could have been done in the face of delegate expectations wanting to cover as many make/models as possible.
If you are happy to pay for a course specific to Blackberry devices then you may find what you are looking for given the parameters "(if the encryption is not enabled of course)".

If I may second this part of the comment. No course that I have reviewed or taken ever covers all the aspects of chip-off.
Look at the syllabus and the individual teaching it. It should give you a good indication what direction the course may be concentrating on.
I have had very prompt and quick response to all my queries from TeelTech, so feel free to call or e-mail them regarding the courses.

I have contacted them and I got some additional info. But as you probably know, there is usually a difference between what the class is on paper and the "user experience". That's why I posted my question on FF, to have a feedback from users who have taken the class.

PM_SQ no I didn't take the course you were on. It appears though, from your response above, that you have had some more success with help from Teeltech.
What isn't clear, and I am sorry if I am missing your point, but what exactly is it you are short of with respect to conducting the examination you mention at the outset? Can you itemise what you have and what you still need? Maybe if we know this we can offer some possible suggestions or solutions to you.
