When I did my dissertation I discussed these types of issues with my thesis advisor at the university. They are in a better position to provide you guidance and they approve the thesis topic anyway (at least they did when I went through this). It strikes me that part of the whole exercise is for the student to identify and propose a research area, not someone else.

How about exFAT. It's still rather new, and some of the major tools still don't fully support it yet.

Agreed.

Sumit, have you actually discussed this with your advisor already?

I agree with Jamie. You really need to organise an urgent meeting with your supervisor. Only you can come up with a topic really and I know that I dithered for ages over mine.

Thanks to All of you again for your valuable suggestion.

Well i did talk to my program leader that i wana go into intelligence or in IT.

But i did mention him that i dont know programming and i am not good in maths too. He did give us 30 topics to choose as a dissertation..

but the problem is a bit of programming and maths is required in that..

my main idea discussing my dissertation here is because here most of the people are working and can suggest me which area would be good and i can look for a job once i finish my degree by april.

so this is where i am confused. Discussion which i had with program leader dint give me anything out of it.

any valuable suggestion for me? Please..

Sumit,

I think those currently working in the field will be confused by the fact that you're a final year MSc student studying a discipline which requires at least some aptitude for programming and mathematics while at the same time you identify those as areas of significant weakness and apparently are struggling to identify a suitable thesis topic, even after discussion with your supervisor. In most cases students at this stage of a degree course should already know what particular subject areas they're most interested in and have some feel for what they can do to add value to the current state of research in those areas.

It may be that you're being somewhat modest about your abilities or for some other reason we're not seeing the whole picture. Should that not be the case, though, I think anyone with your own best interests in mind would encourage you to think carefully about your current direction and perhaps discuss things in detail with a suitably qualified advisor at your place of learning.
