Without a license dongle, FTK runs in demo mode (limited to 5000 files) and is available as a free download here.

Demo versions of EnCase can be found on the CDs that accompany a number of textbooks used in Computer Forensics classes.

hi, i am a student who just register computer forensics, my instructor is going to teach us how to use these software

Depending on the course you are taking it is typical to provide links to the software (limited or demonstration versions) or provide the software on CD/DVD. You can probably find both FTK and Encase included with many digital forensics textbooks; check Amazon for instance.

In any event, do not expect to learn or understand every feature of these complex applications in the duration of the course. At best you will gain a cursory overview of some of the features which is fine.

try the Caine live cd that is free and you should be able to learn the basics of investigation with it.

Hong Kong University SPACE Learning Center has been mentioned a few times on the forum named 'degreeinfo dot com'. The administrators periodically remove older postings not to mention there have been more than a few database corruption issues over the years which wiped out a lot of valuable historical messages. If you want recent opinions I suggest you post a question about people's experience or knowledge of Hong Kong University SPACE Learning Center.
