I recently started advertising for CF work & E Discovery with NJ Law Journal. 13 Weeks, quite expensive and supposedly reached 40K subscribers weekly. After about 10 weeks I am very dissapointed in results, only one inquiry for work.

Has anyone else used this method or can suggest other advertising avenues to gather clients for Cf work? I was also thinking of running add in PI Magazine?

Any comments or help appreciated.

Thanks

I have nerver advertised. I have grown strictly by referral. I do make a lot of speeches and do presentations and seminars anywhere and everywhere I can.

Since 80% of my CF work is generated by attorneys I find that the best route to catch their interest. They are cautious by nature and training and need some face time and a read on your expertise before they trust their cases to you.

Just my 2 cents

Bill

You aren't going to get enough business from an advertisement to even pay for that advertisement.

Also, not everyone who reads the advertisement needs a particular expert at that time. Attorney's ask each other, so I would invest in golf and food sponsorships before I would take out an ad.

Like Deckard, all my work has come from referrals as well. The only advertising I have is my website and thats about it. What you need to do is get in good with the lawyers in your area and somehow prove to them that they couldnt live without your expertise!
