Can anyone tell me what the best companies are to go through (im in CT remember) to get certification?
Also, does anyone know anything about New Horizons Computer Training Centers?
Thanks for the info. they actaully mentaioned the same certification for me. I was thinking about taking the A+, network+ and ethical hacking. I really want to get started with some certs but one big issue is money-everything is so expensive and I just got married so I have NO money! They offer financial aid so that was one of the points that got me.
I would prefer to do in class courses but i think that online are the most practical without driving 2 hours cry
I teach a few classes at New Horizons
Ignore the sales pitches and just take the classes you want
I'm not impressed with them, but they pay well to give pretty powerpoint lectures.. But its a great way to network with others though
Sounds like you're on the right track with A+, etc. Stick with any of the vendor neutral certifications, they will give you the best skills range. Personally I find the on-line courses much better than classroom, particularly if you just need to get certified in what you already know. If I had to do it over again I would skip college and just get the certifications, they seem to mean a lot more in the real world.

Thanks everyone. I dont have much experience right now, so I'm finding it hard to start out. I'm not sure really where to begin, but you all have helped. Dawson, what online courses do you find are the most effective and reputable?
If your looking for online classes, you can't beat the training that CFTCO gives out. Plus you can enter the CCE process after your complete it…
