I see that Opterons seem real popular for forensic workstations, what about the Intel Core2 Duo (4MB cache) cpus? Has anyone compared the two?

Do you have the /pae flag set in your boot.ini? Just curious. It may not even help with the problem you describe, but its worth a shot.

It was really down to cost, AMD and Intel are pretty close on speed.
