Catching a big break

I worked for one of the top computer forensic software companies in quality assurance for 7 years. I am versed in some of the more popular forensic tools and I'm certified. I've been training in file system (FAT32, NTFS, HFS+) analysis and computer methodology. In other words I know the basics of Computer Forensics but I lack the one big thing that everyone is looking for, experience. I have never actually worked on a live case… Oh, and I've relocated to Los Angeles recently.

Can any of the Sr. level CF consultants or hiring managers give me a clue as to where I should be looking for work? Or perhaps what I should be doing in order to get my foot in the door? I don't mind doing HD acquisitions, keyword searches, etc to get started.

I've looked on (Monster, Careerbuilder, Jobing, dice, craigslist and even ManPower) I've even tried to contact some larger companies directly either through their Directing Manager or Human Resources but everyone is looking for Sr. level analyst.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Thank you. I checked that link and used some other keywords but mostly found network security jobs.

Anything else?

Check out law firms and litigation support firms. They are hiring forensic people like crazy. Depending on where you land it can be interesting work. At least it will get you started.

There are many positions out there for teachers in the CF field.. Some you may be able to split by with less them minimal requirements because they are stressing on finding them; So just a thought.
