Hello all,

I need as much help as possible. I am studying Forensic Computing at UWE in Bristol (UK) and am looking for an industrial placement for my third year.
I have phoned and e-mailed numerous FC consultansies and companies but alas I have been rejected by all.

Does anyone know of anyone taking on Forensic Computing students for a work placement? Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

Charlie

I think the people who run these course should be responsible for placing students. Lots more forensic courses combined with no increase in the already low number of organisations able to take work placements = an impossible situation.

It would be nice to hear the view of course leaders on this matter; I'm sure some must read the forum?

I know of several universities that do this. I would usually suggest to potential placement students that they go to their lecturing staff BEFORE trying to do it themselves. The univesities usually have a list of contacts and know who to go to for the best results.

Having said that I know of students that don't get a lot of help finding placements so posting here is not a bad idea, however, rather than starting a new thread each time can we not just keep adding to the same thread?

Perhaps we could create a list of people who offer placements in a sticky on the forum?

I'm happy to take on placements in the Digital Forensics Unit at the Serious Fraud Office (and have done so in the past). Please contact our HR Department.
