Hi!
I have an image of FTK but I need to analyze with Encase… which tool will help me to convert the image file.
mount Imagepro ?
FTK Imager will image to 3 different formats - RAW(dd), SMART or EnCase. Do you know which format your image is in?
EnCase will naturally read the EnCase format. It will also read the RAW format using File->Add Raw Image… from the menu.
The SMART format is similar to the EnCase format but I don't think EnCase will read it.
You can convert between all 3 using
It could also be an AD1 logical image, which I don't believe EnCase will read.
As binarybod mentioned though you can use the Export Image functionality in FTK imager to convert from one image type to another.
its a SMART image
Ok, off the top of my head here is what you need to do…
-In FTK Imager click on file and select Open Image File, browse to where your SMART image is and open it.
-Once you have it open and can see the directory structure, click on File and select Export Image
-Follow the wizard as per normal, although select an E01 or Raw file format
Only consideration will be hard disk space, as obviously you'll need the size of the disk image again to export it (unless you use compression on the E01 format).
