Hello everyone,

I'm wondering if anyone has any advice to give me regarding hospitals employing computer forensics. I have graduated with my degree in computer forensics and have secured a couple of certs(CCE and ACE), but am having a difficult time securing that first position. I work in a hospital and this one is known for hiring from within. So, I'm seriously considering going to upper management and talking with them about computer forensics and also why they would need it. And then obviously volunteering myself. I have googled "hospitals and computer forensics" and have come up with a few hits that I've saved and will print out to show them but am wondering if people can give me some advice as to what I could place into my presentation such as reasons, past cases, etc..

Thanks for any advice.

Does your hospital have their own in-house legal team?

If so, you should approach them to be your champion. eDiscovery will be the best selling point for an in-house job with an in-house legal department.

You mentioned CCE (Certified Computer Examiner). But what is ACE? I am very new at this and getting ready to take a boot camp in a few weeks in D.C. I understand there are 3 certifications CCE, ? and ?

Thank you.

What jhup said, but suggest both ED and CF in a single point.

For the poster above me, ACE is AccessData Certified Examiner. Like ENCE, it's a tool vendor CF cert. CCE is a non-tool-vendor cert, just like CFCE and SANS GCFCA.

Perhaps THIS thread can give you some ideas as well.

In short it is a discussion of ideas for a Masters project with a healthcare slant.
