Hi All
Please could someone help me? I have recently completed a BSc (Hons) in Forensic Computing and have experience of using Encase and FTK. I have had Bond Solon Court Room and Report Writing Training and have completed Guidance Softwares CF 1 Training. I am looking to gain some experience in Computer Forensics as I am in the awkward position at the moment, in that some companies are not willing to give me any experience because of the nature of the job and other companies not willing to employ me because of no experience.
Would really appreciate it if someone could help me by offering me a Job or
work placement, or just advice on what the best avenue to go down is.
Thank you.
I'm sorry, but you are experiencing the same thing as everyone else who was sold on the wave of CF degrees that have popped up recently. I suggest you try to identify what it is that differentiates you from everyone in your graduating class to better market yourself to potential employers.
I strongly urge you to create a list or spreadsheet of all Police forces and forensic companies. Check each website on a regular basis (monthly at least). Many LE jobs get placed on the force websites and sometimes the adverts are only up for a month and (unfortunately) don't make it onto this forum.
Many LE organisations will be prepared to take on high calibre graduates, so make sure you stand out from the crowd. If you're still at Uni put the graft in to get the best results you can achieve,
-Learn to code
-Create programs to recover forensic artefacts. It will only cost you time.
-Write papers and get yourself known for quality forensic work.
Good luck
