i have an indian citizenship but intend to do my masters in forensic computing in a few years. say i want to be a computer forensic investigator in the united states, when i start working would the fact that i have an indian citizenship pose any difficulties whatsoever? meaning will most jobs in this field require a us citizenship?

Many forensic jobs are with government contractors and a large percentage of these require security clearance and citizenship, but not all.

I don't think that it would be such an issue in the private sector but the problem that you may have, there, is competition, since digital forensics is now part of the curriculum at many colleges and universities.

I agree with seanmcl. I am British and consult for a US company. Some government jobs have to be done in government offices, and ONLY USA staff are allowed in. Even non US staff with US citizenship where not allowed in.

I am sure there is a large spectrum of security.

On another side, getting a green card / work permit is extremely hard (but not impossible), even with specialised skills
