I am currently a senior in at the University of Massachusetts majoring computer engineering. I am looking to get a job in the law enforcement field as a crime scene investigator. With my background in computers, I assumed that I would fit under computer forensics the best however, I am really open to all forms of crime scene investigation.
I am looking for possibly starting jobs in law enforcement in the northeast US (preferably) and with no law enforcement/forensics background, looking for any tips or opportunities anyone might have.
Thanks in advance for any information you can contribute.
Paul
What you will find in some cases is that those already in an agency are given preference for the jobs you are seeking. Consider your willingness to work as a patrol officer for a while. It's not a bad job, just not for everyone. That said, with determination and patience you'll find what you are looking for. I don't have any specific advice for opportunities in your region.
