EPSRC Industrial Case Awards - Deadline 2nd May
Would your company's innovation and R&D benefit from a high-quality post-graduate working with you over a three and a half year period, with three quarters of the costs being funded by government through the Engineering and Physical Science Research Council (EPSRC)?
We are delighted to announce that the Cyber Security KTN has been selected to act as an agent of EPSRC and to allocate 2 Industrial CASE awards per year for the next 3 years.
Industrial CASE awards are three and a half year postgraduate awards allocated to companies either directly or via agents. The aim of the awards is to enable companies to take the lead in defining and arranging projects with an academic partner of their choice. The company is required to provide a cash contribution of a minimum of 1/3 rd the EPSRC contribution on top of the EPSRC award (£63,789 in 2008) which at present rates equates to a minimum of £21,263 over the duration of the project. The company must also commit to the student spending at least 3 months at their premises during the period of the award, and pay any travel and subsistence costs the student accrues during this period. Allocations are made as studentships, and have to be taken up at UK universities. The funding goes to the university and the student.
Perhaps you have a relationship with a university already and an award can help establish closer ties through a mutually beneficial arrangement between you and a post-graduate caliber individual.
Perhaps the KTN can make an introduction between a suitable company and a suitable university.
