hey guys my name is Ernesto and i'm new to the forum. I'm actually in the process of applying to the University of Advancing Technology in Tempe, Az. I just really wanted to know if any computer forensics professionals have heard of the institution and what you guys think of it?

I'm going to go with a bachelors in software engineering with a concentration in computer forensics or network security. I'm leaning toward CF because its a new field and sound very interesting. I've always been told throughout my life that I have a knack for investigating.

The University of Advancing Technology is very expensive. Almost 50k in tuition alone for a little less than three years. I was thinking of attending my local university here(University of Texas at El Paso) and get a degree in computer science but not really sure. So as you can see I really want to decide what I want to do and hope some of you guys(or gals ) have any advice on the University of Advancing Technology and/or CF education.

Thanks!

Ernesto

Hello,

It sounds as though you are not sure what field you want to go into.

All the fields you mentioned are very different and while they may compliment each other somewhat, IMHO you would be better off taking some CF classes from vendors or Boot Camp style classes from any one of several different places.
