Hi all.

I am beginning to become disheartened and beginning to think I will never find a job. I moved to Canada for a job and now the contract is coming to an end. I was wondering if anyone could relate to my experiences of applying for jobs as a foreigner. I am British, so I guess im not *that* foreign.

In Canada my education is unrivaled for someone of my age. I have three University Level Degrees, A BEng in Computer + Electronic Eng, and MEng in the same subject and an MSc in Digital Forensics. The problem is not that I am not employable, but it is that employers have to fill out a Labour Market Opinion for me.

Has anyone else been denied a job because of this reason? I was offered a job by a large firm to do forensics for and when I told them I was having work permit problems and I needed a Labour Market Opinion from them they refused and withdrew the offer.

Anyway, I wanted to know if anyone had any tips on how I could best get the job I would love, and could do given my situation, or if anyone else has faced this barrier? I know our field is fairly specialist, but it just sucks that I can actually do the job but am being turned down because of where I come from.

Any feedback would be great, and muchly appreciated.
