Jamie,
Just checked, irritating as it is, I'm afraid the 100% CPU utilization is still there.
Greg
Thanks Greg. This really is a bit of a mystery! I think the only other thing I can try to exclude is the Amazon ad in the bottom left. I'll do that right now, if someone could just confirm whether or not it makes a difference I'd again be very grateful (if it doesn't I'm a bit stumped, it might just be something to do with the way IE7 handles CSS).
Jamie
Well done ! You've done it wink
Happy Easter matey ! )
Really, was that it? Could someone else quickly confirm? (all due respect to you Greg!)
After dusting the cobwebs off IE I just viewed the site and have normal CPU. When initially loading the page CPU jumps to 46% and then drops back to 00 once the page loads.
And another confirmation here, should you need it.)

Brilliant, thanks to all for your help and especially to Greg who first mailed me about the problem and carried out some initial tests.
Cheers,
Jamie
Jamie,
Was the javascript ad code creating flash advertisements?. I had this problem at work with IE (on various sites) hitting 100% CPU, as soon as I disabled the Flash plugin the CPU went back to normal?
Paul.
I don't believe it was flash, but interesting that you saw a similar problem (I'll keep it in mind for the future if I'm thinking of adding any flash components).
Ok,
So can you replicate the same scenario on another computer with same Flash version installed?
Cheers,
Nick
