Hallo ..
pardon me for asking but I just got an email which I naively opened before I realized it was either spam or something like that…
The thing is that it contained an attached EML file of 2 KB which did not appear in the inbox list as an attachment, along with some Korean multicolored text and some hyperlinks.
Of course, I didn't download this attachment, but is that enough to be certain that something illicit didn't occurred ?
I was under the impression that just by opening a message nothing hazardous would happen.
Should I worry ?

It depends on which specific app you use for your e-mail.
Outlook Express - which is I believe the most used one - has a "tradition" for being insecure in the sense that by simply opening the e-mail it may execute some code,
Specific versions and particularly actual KB fixes installed may be more or less affected by this behaviour.
Nowadays even it should be "safe" (unless some new unreported vulnerability has been found and is used by that malware).

I use the classic yahoo (free edition) messenger but I hadn't activated the SSL security feature or the "never display image" command in the options section . (
