Hi, I was wondering is there an exam fee for AccessData Certified Examiner exam? I cant find the information on their site.
Thanks!

A ACE certification and Refresh are both free.

wow ok i missed that part. Now for the dumber questions - my new uni will be using FTK during a M.Sc program and I would like to work towards this cert - my forensic experience is minimal but come one years time i would assume Ill be "better educated" - how could I approach this cert without going on one of their courses?
Thanks!
This is a tool specific certification so use of FTK will be important.

yea of course thats why im interested because because ill be using the tool a lot during the year but im sure not enough so what i am looking for is maybe exam areas that need to covered or a prep guide (i been over the site) would be nice if a exam guide was published like Encase.
Something to keep in mind
ACE Credential Maintenance requires the following
* One AccessData course per year to maintain familiarity with changing tools and technology.
* Passing a practical examination; the examination is administered in AccessData's LOT (Live Online Training) format and takes approximately one hour.
If you are in school that could be an expensive yearly cost to add to tuition.

thanks. saw that is it comprehensive tho? its at a time like this you see how new digital forensic training is compared to other certs big players like Comptia, Ms and Cisco. I can see the exam can be studied for on your own I just need some guidance as to how to follow it.
Thanks again.

I am not saying that the learning experience would not be extremely helpful. But as you noted, timing is everything when taking the exam.
You might want to start watching the videos, practice with the tool and watch for changes and additions to the cert requirements. By the time you finish school the test should be a cakewalk.

thanks. I emailed my university too to see if they are enrolled in such a program as well - who knows - it seems this exam free thing is only since May so it might be worth more unis in the uk including this in their degrees.
