I've tried to access the hard drive on a Sony Vaio PC model VGC-JS4EF/S but I can't get it open without fear of breaking the fagile case.
Has anyone done this before? Is there a magic screw that I missed or something? I've taken out all the screws from the back of the PC (the ones behind the sticky pads) and taken off part of the case but it still feels like there is a screw stopping it from releasing - and from fear of breaking it I thought I'd ask out.
Is there a reason that you don't want to do a network acquisition?
Opening the case could violate the warranty.
I am only previewing the evidence for a client - so didn't want to go down the imaging route. But I guess if it comes to that then that is the only way.
Network acquisition on a 500GB drive I'm not quite sure how long that would take - days?
Greetings,
You can preview it with Helix.
