I am trying to access a Samsung S7 (SM-G930R4) with a non functioning screen with a swipecode enabled. The adaptive keys light up and it takes a charge, so I believe it is only an issue with the screen. I have tried getting into download/recovery mode using the volume/power/home button combinations and reset the screen with no luck. I tried to mirror the screen to a TV using a usbC/USB/HDMI hub hoping I could put in the swipecode using an attached mouse, but I couldn't get the screen to display on the TV. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Replace the screen?

As mentioned, replacing the screen will give you a few more options. If that isn't an option the MTPWN exploit works well if you're ok with just an MTP acquisition (mainly pictures and video). It will work even without a working screen (I had a colleague with a similar issue on an S7 and a broken screen). It will unlock the phone and put it in MTP mode without requiring input. Security patch level needs to be before oct/nov 2017 though as it was patched then.

AXIOM will allow you to do this method and there are a few scripts out there that might help as well if you don't have AXIOM.

Here's another thread with some details

Did you have any luck with it ? I still consider screen replacement the best method to access your data )

I did not have any luck. The scripting is beyond my skillset, so I am going to recommend that we attempt a screen replacement.

Have you tried an OTG cable and keyboard/mouse? The OTG should allow you to use a mouse to enter whichever you like. I've done a screen replacement on a phone (Detective fought me on it, but found out while the device had no code it did have encryption so we would have been SOL with a chip off). That set, screens are simple enough to replace and only typically run $150 bucks or so.

I originally tried an OTG hub that also had an HDMI input, hoping that I could mirror the screen so that I could actually see the swipecode screen and then manipulate it with a mouse, but I could not get it to display on a couple of different TVs or Monitors. If there are any suggestions along that route I'd appreciate it

S6 and S7 doesn't support tv out by cable, only wirelessly. It was supported up to and including S5, then dropped and re-introduced in S8. No idea why.

Ah sorry, when I re-read it I saw the keys functioning and thought it was displaying, but that you could interact with the device. My bad!
