Hi
While working on a shild porn case, the suspect had many cd's on wich where some movies that were burned as VCD video Files.

When trying to hash or acquire within Encase it does not work at all. Encase acquisition time keep on moving forward (100 meg cd posted an acquisition time of almost 5 hours).

Ftk was tried also, the image worked fine but all the data copied was corrupted.

Can anyone help or have any idea how to make that work with encase.
Thank You

VCD is a video format used on CD's so that you can view them on your television as you would a regular DVD. The format is MPEG-1.

If the videos are not corrupt you should be able to view/copy them on a standard DVD player. Why not just record it onto a VHS tape? In this case I don't think it is necessarily better practice to image them with forensic software.
